Preparing a Place for Worship.
Before the first hymn is sung, the first prayer is spoken, or Holy Communion is shared, someone has prepared the space. As part of our Worship & Music Ministry, the Altar Guild helps ensure that worship is conducted regularly and in keeping with the liturgy and traditions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Their work helps create a worship space that reflects the sacredness of what brings us together—the Word of God, the Sacraments, and our life together in Christ.

There’s a Place for You.You don't need to be an expert in Lutheran worship to serve on the Altar Guild. Members learn the traditions and practices of the ministry while serving alongside others.
Whether you enjoy working behind the scenes, appreciate the beauty and symbolism of worship, or simply want a hands-on way to serve St. Peter’s, the Altar Guild welcomes you. Come help us prepare the table, tend the sacred space, and make ready the place where God's people gather. |
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
