The Son & Sand Retreat Center is a year-round ministry of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocean City, Maryland, offering a welcoming and affordable retreat experience just minutes from the beach. Designed to host church groups, youth ministries, leadership teams, families, and community organizations, Son & Sand provides a comfortable setting for fellowship, learning, worship, and relaxation.
The retreat center is located 1 block from the ocean/beach by crossing over Coastal Highway using the crosswalk at the corner and following the walkway to the beach.
Since welcoming its first guests in 1995, Son & Sand has hosted groups from across the United States and beyond. What began as St. Peter’s Youth Retreat Program has grown into a beloved retreat destination where people come together to deepen relationships, strengthen faith, and create lasting memories. Rooted in St. Peter’s mission of hospitality and service, Son & Sand continues to provide a place where individuals and groups can step away from the everyday, reconnect with one another, and experience God's presence in a special way.

Year-Round St. Peter’s Son & Sand Retreat Center is Handicapped Accessible
What to bring?
Convenient Bus Service with the bus stop at the corner, cost $4 /person for all day use. Bus pass is good from 6:00 a.m. on that day until 3:00 a.m. the next morning. Exact change is required. Son & Sand Greeters are members of St. Peter’s who serve as Son & Sand Greeters and are assigned to your group to meet with you upon your arrival, will be in contact with you during your stay, and see you off when you leave. Visiting Groups For each person attending the retreat center you will receive a complimentary bag of Dolle's Salt Water Taffy and the Group Leader and/or Pastor will receive a complimentary Son & Sand Tote Bag. |
Fees:
- $20 per person per night for 7-17
- $25 per person per night for ages 18 or older.
- Children ages 6 or younger stay FREE.
- A $100 non-refundable registration fee & $125 security deposit
- Payment must be made at at the time of registration to secure the facility.
