There is something special about this season of life. ​

It is a time to celebrate the experiences that have shaped us, enjoy the friendships we have made, discover new adventures, and continue using the gifts God has given us.  At St. Peter’s, our Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) is one way we live out our calling to be a welcoming community and share God’s love with one another and with those around us. We gather not simply because we are seniors, but because we still have plenty of living, laughing, learning, serving and sharing to do.  Whether it is a day trip, a delicious meal, a special event, or simply time together, SAM creates opportunities to build relationships, strengthen our faith and stay actively connected to the life of St. Peter’s. It’s about enjoying where we are, making the most of the gifts God has given us, and continuing to make a difference ... together.

Because fellowship doesn’t just happen on Sunday mornings

SAM brings people together for experiences that are both meaningful and fun. We believe fellowship is an important part of our faith—and that some of life's best moments happen when we step away from our routines and spend time with others. 

• Explore & Discover - Plan trips, tours and outings that give us an opportunity to experience new places, learn something interesting and enjoy the beauty and history of our area.
  
  
• Gather Around the Table - Share meals, luncheons, dinners and special celebrations where good food is only part of the experience. The real joy is the conversation, laughter and friendship around the table.
  
  
• Learn & Grow - Look for opportunities to learn something new, share experiences and grow together in faith and life.
  
  
• Stay Connected - Most importantly, SAM provides a place where people can stay connected to their church family, make new friends and know that they belong.​

You don't need a special title or a lot of free time to be part of SAM. Sometimes the best contribution is simply showing up.

• Help plan trips, outings, meals, and special events.
• Research destinations, activities, restaurants, and transportation.
• Assist with reservations and event details
• Welcome participants and help newcomers feel at home.
• Take photos and help capture and share memories

Meet the Ministry Leader

Susanne Howard,  Senior Adult Ministry Leader
​Suzanne brings a natural passion for creating experiences that bring people together.  As a former travel agent serving the Oak Crest Retirement Community in Baltimore, Suzanne saw firsthand that the best part of any trip wasn’t simply the destination—it was the smiles, laughter, friendships, and memories made along the way.

That experience shapes her vision for SAM today. Suzanne wants SAM to be a place where seniors from both St. Peter’s and the surrounding community can build friendships, discover new experiences, and simply have fun together. Through travel, learning, and shared adventures, she hopes SAM will continue to strengthen the sense of family and connection.

At the heart of Suzanne’s approach is a simple belief: everyone is welcome. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, we are all God’s children and there is a place for you here.
