MEMBERS IN MISSION
IN SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY:
The Son & Sand Retreat Center at the west end of the property is used in warm months for Youth, Church and Mission groups to come to the shore to retreat, have fun and do some mission work while here. Check out the Son & Sand Retreat Center page on this website for more information.
In the cold months St. Peter’s offers the Retreat Center as a Cold Weather Shelter for the homeless when the weather is too cold or severe for them to be outside. The shelter is run by a group of local churches including St. Peters, known as the “Ocean City Crisis Coalition”. The shelter is run by the generosity of volunteers who do all the work. Guests can have a hot home-cooked dinner & breakfast, take a shower, have a load of clothes washed and dried, and a warm bed to sleep in. If you would like to volunteer or send a donation, call the church office at 410-524-7474.
Our Open Door Feeding Ministry serves a FREE hot lunch and gives out FREE bags of groceries to take home every Wednesday from 12noon-1:30pm year-round. It’s also a great time for folks to fellowship and talk to us about other needs we may be able to help with. Only requirement is to simply show up!
St. Peter’s Community Service Team aids those of the community in need by: Providing School supplies & other items needed for children at Title 1 schools in the area ;
Providing complete holiday meals and gift certificates for gas, food, gifts and baskets at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter for our families in need and;
Sending cards and gift certificates to those friends and relatives who serve on active duty in the military.
The Community Life Center (a gymnasium size hall) is available to rent for parties, receptions, dances, and large meetings. The hall seats up to 250 and includes a stage and small soundboard with wireless mics. There are also rooms that can be rented for smaller group meetings.
Sunday Worship Services at St. Peter’s are at 9am for Contemporary Worship and at 10:30am for Traditional Worship. Fellowship is offered before and after each service with coffee, tea, bagels & cream cheese and pastries.
All are welcome to join us in worship!
